Some hitting statistics from GNU

Some hitting statistics based on 1296 games, using GNU's feature to show statistics:

If Blue pays now, White will at least hit once in 760 games; Blue will hit at least once in 686 games.

If Blue does not pay now, White will hit at least once in 663 games; Blue will hit at least once in 531 games.

Paying later is not that much safer in terms of how often Blue is hit, but results in much less Blue hits, to a large part reflecting the Blue will have less counterplay after a White hit.
