I envision a different future

Some day, if the federations ever organize into an International Federation and there is some world-wide coordination (and rules) it would be possible to have a great calendar and maybe even some money added with the kind of world wide publicity and coverage possible.
When that happens, like Tennis or Golf, Backgammon could have it's "Majors" like the US Open, Monte Carlo, and the Danish Open, and every year another country can bid for the forth one which could float.
There could even be something that comes out of the prize pools to reward people who play in 3 out of 4 and people who cash in three. (A grand slam would be nearly impossible.)
As for the three I mentioned above, even those may rotate a little. Maybe every 4th year the US Open has to yield to Japan, or Turkey or Germany, Cyprus, England, etc.
