Play like a Turk

Was watching the end of the semis between the two turks I think it was Centinel that took his side at 17-15 and Kachatryan took his side 17-15.

The game they were playing didn't look a lot like the backgammon I am used to watching played. It was more reminiscent of nackgammon. Wide open backgame versus backgame kind of play.

I'm wondering if that played in their favour against their bot practicing opponents.
