Cube Play in 5 point holding (Deferring Cube)

I regularly see players defer cubing in simple holding games positions where technically there is an easy cube/take in preference for waiting till the position is more difficult to assess or there are too many market losers to defer further.

Is this good play, bad logic, or materially irrelevant and just something you can do to make bean counters crazy?
