I would like to ask though, what spectators are expected to do if they notice such an incidence?

With LM they are, I believe, expected to say nothing if they see an illegal move - though it's generally different with chouettes - where they are asked to comment. Commonsense might seem to dictate though that, if a kibitzer notices that a roll was straight onto the board, rather than through the baffle box, and no one seems to have noticed, then should they not point it out? 'Commonsense' might not apply here though. There may be issues about spectators not necessarily being neutral, and that therefore they should only speak out if they witness cheating.
