We have two points with spare checkers to put to use in this position: midpoint and 8-point. Each has two spares so we have 2x2 = 4 plays to consider:

1) 8/5, 8/6 [OK; I think we can eliminate this one immediately for it's front-load/overload poor distribution result.]

2) 8/5, 13/11: This one is very diverse/balanced, leaving spares (builders/hitters) on three homeside points, right where we want spares. It also starts the point we most want to make (at least on our side of the board) and leaves mega-covers. The downside are the (14) shots, and especially the hit/escape with tempo rolls.

3) 13/10, 13/11: seven shots (risk) but good builder location (reward). The barpoint is an alternate 'prize' after the primary 5-point. I see 14 rolls that make the 5-point (not counting 44) and another four (or six if we include 64) which make the barpoint.

4) 13/10, 8/6: I feel pain putting a checker on the 10-point (even more pain putting two there) while owning the 4-point. This looks diverse but it feels constricting. To be fair, 13/10, 13/11 also does this but with added point-building value that 13/11 provides.

13/10, 13/11 leaves half as many (i.e. seven fewer) shots than the slot and still makes a very good point *almost* as often next turn. I'm going to fall into line (I think) with the majority here.

13/10, 13/11
