Your position represents a type of position that frequently renders me helpless. Although it looks so innocent and 'clean', I don't have a sensible game plan. There are some reasons for running (24/16) and for building (13/5).
White has to break the midpoint in order to hit Blue's checker if he runs. That will harm the connectivity between her back and front checkers. On the other hand, Blue is back in the race (by more than 10%), and White has already 11 checkers in the zone. Thus, running might be anti-thematic.
13/5 tries to catch up on developing his home. Unless he is hit, Blue has good chances to make his 5-point, and the game will be even. If she hits, Blue will be in serious trouble.
24/16 is more defensive than 13/5, but the latter play has more momentum. It's a guessing game. Today, I play 24/16; maybe tomorrow I would play 13/5. Either way, your position is very educational to me.
