In #6 it's pretty clear to advance the anchor and make the 3pt since then you have a huge double coming up (barring a few strong rolls for the opponent) and actually there aren't that many rolls after which the cube can be taken. So, there is no need to increase volatility of the position by hitting since it's already pretty much a pass. That was my line of reasoning for this position.
