A 2-1 backgame if it gets primed from this structure where the opp has no spare checkers on his 4 pts in his board is in serious trouble. Then, once primed the opp can kill 6's and then he kills 5's.

It is very easy for the opp, if not molested, to form a prime since he has no spares in his board, or perhaps better said, he has no checkers forward of his prime field from the 3 thru 8 pts.

If you give the opp a couple spares inside his board, then his threat to prime is more difficult and the benefits of his prime less since he'll have more timing. Of course, those spares would make it much more risky to hit, since there's now a major threat for the opp to enter and semi-blitz by attacking on the ace pt.
