If it seems that you're getting primed a lot more than you're getting attacked, the chances are that when you look your opponent's offensive position, you are too afraid of her attacking potential and not afraid enough of her priming potential.
Fear of getting attacked is natural and instinctive. You can see that you might get hit and closed out.
Fear of getting primed requires training. You have to see that several moves down the line your back checkers will get trapped.
My guess is that you need to learn to split and/or run your back checkers more boldly in positions where there is some danger of getting attacked but even more danger of getting primed.
