The choice seems to be make the five, make the four, bury a checker with 6/1, or abandon the nine with 9/6 9/7.

None of these are appetizing. Blue is up by 20 pips, so safe play would seem to be in order. Abandoning the nine point gives white a bunch more rolls to escape the spare on her anchor, meaning she gets lots of timing and controls the outfield.

I guess that leaves burying one. I know, "when in doubt,make the five point" but I don't like the fourteen shots that leaves when up by 20.
