Stick used to like making fun of Chuck Bower's ability to find unorthodox plays. In chess there is a saying that to be original is to lose many games. Similarly in backgammon, "original" play is usually wrong. However, this is the sort of position where unstereotyped thinking pays off. Congratulations to Chuck! I didn't even consider 18/15.
