Is there something wrong with the simple third roll position of 52S-52D-31P?

It puts White on roll.

Strictly speaking, Nack did not say that White was not on roll. It is conventional, however, to present a position with the player on roll at the bottom. In the case of this puzzle, that player was Blue.

Besides, 52S-52D-31P is a trivial solution. Hopefully, Nack intended something more interesting than that. Only he can say, though.
