This is a position type where the 3 dead checkers are a lot less harmful than might usually be the case. If you don't get lucky containing the back checker right away you wait for a hit or get lucky with the race. If you get the hit you probably have a decent board by then and it is probably enough to win with the cube, you don't need a prime. You don't need a prime to get lucky in the race either.
