I have gained nothing, but I didn't lose anything. So part of the risk of waiting too long an losing your market is mitigated.

Having said that, and responding to Bob Koca's remarks as well, keep in mind that I would never recommend waiting and risking losing your market if you are playing a very fine player. These strategies are only worth the risk if you are playing a lower quality player or someone you know is timid with the cube or someone you believe has poor cube skills, and even then you need to be careful not to lose your market.

Top players tend to forget what it's like to play poor players, but when you play at the club and in side events like blitzes and seniors, you don't always face open players.

Also, I teach many intermediate players and they mostly play other intermediate players, and I believe it is appropriate to teach some skills about playing humans and why it is different from playing a bot or a Giant.
