DQ: make bar point or point deep?

Making the bar point is in line with the classic strategy of pure play: 'make your points in order'
Pure play has been over ruled by the bots in many circumstances, but I would go for the pure play here. Keep your checkers in front of your opponent, make a valuable blocking point, and run out with 21/16 now that you're ahead in the race.
OTOH, pointing on the deuce does make a homeboard point and unstacks the eight. Also worth looking at is pointing on white's head on the ace, which is probably better since it gains a tempo and burying on the ace can't be that much worse than burying on the deuce. With two remaining blots to shoot at the tempo hit looks good.
Also good looking (but not mentioned in the title) is making the bar point and hitting loose. Make a point, distract by taking half a roll away, and hope to scoop up another checker next roll. I'd play this at DMP.
AtS, I'll go for the normal looking 21/16 13/7.
