I don't know how interested you are in chasing down exactly where XG goes wrong, but here are my suggestions, based on my experience with similar positions that I've encountered in the past.

1. Try an unlimited game rollout. I'm not saying that this will necessarily be reliable, but it will help you determine whether the problem is with the way XG is adjusting its play according to the score or whether the problem is more general than that.

2. Based on the reported equities, I would guess that XG is misplaying White's side after 8/4 8/3. So check how XG is playing all of White's immediate rolls, on low-ply evaluations. It's common for XG to get confused by Blue's super-blotty board, and grossly misjudge the pay-now-or-later tradeoff.

3. For extra entertainment, try to get hominid to defend XG's verdict.
