The best way to take this quiz

I am not a great mathematician, but if you have 8 questions and they are multiple choice with three answers, how many are you likely to get right if you just guess randomly? Won't you get 1 out of 3 right, or just over 2?

Now, assuming these are tough problems that most people will get wrong, can't you increase your odds by selecting the play you think is right and eliminating that, and then choosing one of the other two randomly?

So if the average backgammon player will only get two right, of the other 7 he is then 50/50 and should get about 3.5 of those.

So, if I were to bet someone which of us would do better, that would be my approach and I think I am more likely to win that way!
