2016 Texas Backgammon Championships -- San Antonio -- February 4-7

Tara and I wish to personally invite you to the 2016 Texas Backgammon Championships and USBGF Awards in San Antonio on February 4 thru February 7.

Our 2013, 2014, and 2015 tournaments were great successes as a result of the tremendous support we have received from the backgammon community. It is so appreciated.

We think this year's tournament will be even bigger and better !!

Features will include sponsorship by Geoffrey Parker Games, designation as a USBGF Prime Tournament, and the second annual USBGF Awards Dinner.

Geoffrey Parker Games, http://www.geoffreyparker.com/, is a long established British firm specializing in leathercrafts of many types. Their backgammon boards and accessories are, undoubtedly, the finest crafted leather products of their type in the world. We are honored to have this association. The tournament champion will receive a beautiful, custom-crafted, top-of-the-line board specifically designed for this tournament. The championship finalist and semi-finalists will also receive Geoffrey Parker products.

The USBGF will continue the Prime Tournament program in 2016 and the Texas Backgammon Championships is pleased to participate. USBGF members will participate in a free-entry event for $1,000 added money. Non-members can join on site if they wish to participate.

The second annual USBGF Awards Dinner will be held Friday night, February 5, 2016 in the Minuet Room of the Menger Hotel. Following the seated dinner, a number of USBGF awards will be announced. Following those awards, the new inductees into the American Backgammon Hall of Fame will be introduced. We think this will be a most exciting event.

We'll have the usual full complement of backgammon events including the ABT tournaments, the Masters and Limited Jackpots, the Dual-Duel, the Tournament of Stars doubles, the USBGF National Championship West, and much more. Everyone can play as much backgammon as they wish.

Our annual Super Bowl Watch Party will again be held in the Director's suite. Big screen televisions, a variety of drinks including beer and wine, and Texas barbecue make for a great social event to close the tournament weekend.

And, of course, the Texas Backgammon Championships are held in beautiful downtown San Antonio -- one of the most unique American tourist/convention cities. Tremendous historical sites, cultural venues, and dining options are right outside the door. The historic Menger hotel hosts the event -- the famous Alamo is across the street and the incomparable Riverwalk is but a block away.
