I bought and quickly read/scanned a Kindle version of the book. Maybe this has been updated already. In any case, I think the book will help the beginning player get better, and will also raise the interest in the game through some of the anecdotes (bringing players to life) and some of the many photos (top backgammon players, celebrities playing backgammon).

I would not go as far as calling it the best book on the market for the beginning player, but it is a good book for that market segment and one I'd be happy to recommend.

One thing I found strange is that the back checkers are called backmarkers in the book. Why not use the standard term?

I understand that you and Phil are helping Simon with revisions of the book. I'll read it more slowly when I have the time, and will let you know if I have other comments, so that if you agree you can pass them on to Simon.
