The current TC of 2/12 is fine. I like faster masters 1/10 and I am certain that I play worse in general at 1/10 than I do at 2/12. That is not the issue for me. The issue is that quite a few players won't be able to comfortably handle 1/10 or anything much faster than 2/12.

A player new to clocks would likely be terrified of 1/10 and often is concerned with 2/12 until he/she realizes that they have to be really slow and unaware to time out at 2/12. This realization typically comes after playing a few matches and not coming close to timing out.
