If a 15p match takes 5h using today's clock rules (must be extremely uncommon), please note that cutting the time banks in half would only reduce that time by half an hour at most.

While a 15p match sure can take time with a clock too, I think not using a clock at all is the issue. I fully agree with you that the championship divison should be "clocks preferred" at least, and preferably "mandatory". That said, I don't want to see the standard clock rules change as I find them quite good already.

Then you can always have speed gammon side events, which are common in Denmark.
