First XG estimates the luck (in MWC% unit) of each dice roll from the perspective of, say, Player1. Then it sums it up for the whole match. The sum, the total luck, is reported in the session summary window, under luck(cost). It's the number in brackets. Player2's luck is just the negative of Player1's. From this total luck, a luck-adjusted result is derived, which is not reported in the session summary. The luck-adjusted result is the real result (100% for a match win, 0% for a match loss) minus total luck. The luck based rating is usually approximately equal to the luck-adjusted result, unless the latter approaches or exceeds either end of the interval [0%,100%]. One could say the luck-based rating is the luck-adjusted result squashed into that interval, perhaps by use of a sigmoid function. The luck based Elo is connected to the luck based rating via the FIBS (or whoever introduced it really) Elo formula.
