this is what I have seen in the NY Metropolitan Open Facebook group...

USA vs. The World

USA vs. The World is one of our new featured events which will consist of 2 five player teams.

The teams are almost complete and are as follows:

Team USA Team Captain – Matt Cohn-Geier Player 1 – Victor Ashkenazi Player 2 – Petko Kostadinov Player 3 – Matvey “Falafel” Natanzon Player 4 – will be announced shortly

The World Team Team Captain – Masayuki “Mochy” Mochizuki (Japan) Player 1- Michihito “Michy” Kageyama (Japan) Player 2 – Thomas Kristensen (Denmark) Player 3 – Akiko Abe Yazawa (Japan) Player 4 – to be determined shortly

The teams will be competing in three events leading up to the final event. They are as follows:

Wed. – Doubles – 9 points

Match 1 Match 2

Thurs. – Singles – 13 points

Match 1 Match 2

Fri. – Speed Gammon – best 2 out of 3 (5 point matches)

Match #1

Sat. – Speed Gammon – best 2 out of 3 (5 point matches)

Match #2

Sun. – The Finals – 11 point match with full team consulting

Each match will be worth 1 point. There will be one additional point awarded to the team with the lowest (best) PR. The difference between their scores will then be applied to the starting score for the final 11 point event.

In addition to the above mentioned events, a minimum of 40 money games will be played over the course of the 4 days.

There will be live streaming with commentary throughout the 5 days, starting on Wed. January 6th-10th, 2016.
