If this occurred you are forgetting that the winners would split up the entire $540.00. So let's say that four people each bet $100 on the right side for the total of $400.00. The entire pool of money would be $600, less 10 percent, or $540.00. If you divide that by 4 each person who put up $100 would therefore get back $135.00 and therefore each would net $35 profit.

The most you can lose if you are on the winning side is 10 percent of what you bet and that assumes there is not a single bet on the losing side.
