Thanks for your thoughts.

In the first position, you have a chance to give your opponent a huge anti-joker with 5-5, and 5-(1,2, and 3)weaken his position.

I like this observation, which argues for 7/5 7/1, but it doesn't seem to explain why the bot thinks that 8/6 7/1 is almost as good as 7/5 7/1 while 8/6 8/2 is much worse than either of them.
