U.S. Backgammon Federation USBGF Board of Directors Election Results

The USBGF Board of Directors is pleased to announce the results of the Board of Directors election. We had 184 votes. The Board is very pleased with the high level of interest and the considerable participation exhibited by the membership. We have promised a more open, transparent, inclusive, and democratic process. We think we have provided that and the membership has responded most favorably.

The results are:

Bill Riles 145 votes 78.8%

Tara Mendicino 141 votes 76.6%

Frank Talbot 100 votes 54.3%

Marty Storer 96 votes 52.2%

Linda Rockwell 86 votes 46.7%

Howard Markowitz 71 votes 38.6%

Patty Geoffroy Knapp 30 votes 16.3%

In accordance with the By-Laws, by virtue of being named on at least 50% of the ballots cast, Bill Riles, Tara Mendicino, Frank Talbot, and Marty Storer have been elected to the Board for three-year terms. These four will join Karen Davis, Patrick Gibson, Rich Munitz, Art Benjamin, Joe Russell, Neil Kazaross, Dorn Bishop, Julius High, and Michelle Steinberg to comprise the USBGF Board of Directors.

We thank retiring Board members Steve Mellen and Justin Nunez for their years of service to the USBGF -- though no longer on the Board, they each have expressed a willingness to contribute their service and experience to the USBGF. We congratulate Bill and Tara on their re-election to the Board. We welcome Frank and Marty to the Board.

We appreciate the willingness to serve the USBGF demonstrated by all of the candidates. Successful or not, each of them have the skills and the desire to serve that are valuable to the USBGF. We hope each will continue to contribute.
