I don't remember what my vote was and I'm too lazy to go back and look. But I'm almost certain that it was to make the GP with either 17/16 or 8/7 as the ace. Making the sixteen point probably wouldn't have occurred to me, but after reading Neil's take I'm persuaded that preventing white from hitting with tempo is the right idea, and I count 15 shakes that allow that.

Leaving the runner on the ace is not very risky - the swiss cheese blockade shouldn't pose much of a problem, and if they want to hit loose on the ace with only seven in the zone, let 'em.
