OK, 21/18(2) is given -- I hope no one argues with that. Then we have three choices for the remaining threes:

1. 13/10(2)

2. 21/18 13/10

3. 21/18 6/3

(1) is absolutely no-go. This creates a stripped inflexible position.

Between (2) and (3), the clear choice is (3). My golden rule of mutual holding games is to not give any unnecessary shots since race is all that matters here. My question for those who place a blot on the 10pt is this -- what are you trying to achieve by doing this? Do you simply want to keep a spare on the 6pt? It doesn't matter in this position. There will be no exchanges of hits in the near future; we are simply waiting to see who rolls (more) doubles. That's the nature of such positions.

Mike -- do the right thing and choose 6/3. This is such a thematic move I'm surprised we are even having this discussion.
