One side project I have is to collect some interesting 2-away/many-away (or many-away/2-away) checker plays where it's not clear how many undoubled gammons the 2-away player wins, and roll them out at least 46656 times so that the Rollout Statistics are somewhat meaningful. Then I hope to derive some new rules of thumb that have so far been overlooked, due to the almost exclusive focus of the backgammon community on pseudocubeless statistics rather than actual statistics. Your position here will be a good one to add to my growing list.
