So *now* we're supposed to think about saving a 6. Note we trail the race (slightly) and have the worse timing. Such can be the result of the 18-point holding game where opp has a 10 pip advantage in useful timing (their 13-point vs our 18-point both being locked).

I think one problem is that if we don't save a six and then roll one next turn we may have to leave a double shot. Once they give up their 8-point I'm less concerned.

So start with 7/1 and leave the checker on the 8-point. We probably want to use an ace next turn to play 6/5 so let's leave that point started and move our already wasted spare to a slightly worse spot. We're likely to have a laden low board anyway when all the smoke clears.
