Totally agree.

An opponent should never have to give a reason for opposing the use of headphones. It is a fact that headphones could facilitate cheating, and can create doubt and discomfiture in the minds of perfectly reasonable people. To expect to be able to use them in a tournament, quite simply, is not transparent behaviour; like expecting to be able to use opaque dice (partially sighted players excepted).

I also think that their rules on generating random rolls which, in my view, are at the core of any rules set, are inferior. If I was a cheat I would be grateful for their nebulous definition: dice should require at least two or three UP AND DOWN shakes. I will be submitting one or more alternative versions to their Rules Committee soon, but do not hold out much hope of any change.
