I basically agree with you, but I don't think one can quite use suspected bot-checkers as surrogates for actual bot info, because such people may occasionally err on purpose (or simply not check the bot) in an attempt to disguise what they're doing.

But anyway, I don't think it does much good to try to tell people that they shouldn't behave that way, because lecturing at them won't stop them. The only behavior I can really control is my own, so I should just concentrate on behaving the way I think I should.
