I think this is a binary decision: Either 24/15 (running) or 11/5 8/5 (making the golden point). When a player has only one backchecker, since he could already escape successfully with the other one(s), he is supposed to run with his last straggler if there is no constructive play elsewhere. Here, making the 5-point can be considered very valuable. Yet, the notable edge in the pip count indicates that 24/15 is thematically correct as well. Right or wrong, I prefer the pointing play 11/5 8/5. Blue will have to make this point sooner or later, and the current roll gives him a compelling opportunity to do so. Escaping with the last checker can be made up in the next roll in my opinion.
