Was Prince Alexis Obolensky considered?

I don't know how much we are allowed to divulge about the who and who was not on the ballot. The simple answer is 'yes'. I agree that he should be in the Hall. If it weren't for him the game may never have gotten out of the dark ages of the 1950's (describing the game, not the world).

Maybe I should mount a campaign next year (actually you've already started it)!
