Help me choose a board

Thank you Colin, I guess my main concern is quality for the money. This is what I am thinking... don't know if I'm correct and please let me know.

The Dal Negro board is a little small, a little sloppy fit, and has no checker storage ,but is a beautiful high quality item made of wood and book cloth that I will own for 20+ years. And when I become a full blown backgammon addict, I should spend $600-$1200 for an equal quality larger set.

The Wycliffe sets is full size with huge checkers & a monster cube, but is a lower quality item with bones made of chipboard & carboard that I will own for around 3 years till it breaks down. And when I become a full blown backgammon addict, I should spend $600-$1200 for a better quality set.

or maybe I am a little crazy.
