Yes. I do not see the Giants list as a Hall of Fame vote though.. more like the best of that "2-year season". In many sports players can have a great year (or half year) and either be ranked or considered on an all-star team.

In most sports who wins.. IS more important than who is technically better. I see PR like individual attributes but winning is a team attribute.. even though backgammon is a one player team (regularly).

I agree on the investment analogy. Just because someone is high up does not mean I necessarily believe they will continue at that level. "Past performance not not guarantee future returns"

Winning is not my only criteria.. but my point is that winning is important.

Most would rather win a quarterfinal match than play at a lower PR. Although playing a lower be is a nice consolation prize if one loses.
