Gridgammon question - match save inconsistency

GridGammon saves the match when you exit the table, not when the match is over, so there's no point waiting. One thing that's better on SHG is that it saves the whole match when it's over. GG only saves the current session. Search your games folder - you'll probably find the rest of the match in separate files.
