IF you have a sufficiently large database, I think the following would be an interesting measure of actual playing strength:
PR - PR(opponent in match) + PR (opponent on average).
This would be assessed per match and then take the weighted average over all matches per player. If you get your opponent to play worse against you than he or she plays on average, that would lower your own PR.
This only works with a large database.
You could do the same with MWC given up per decision, but then you would need a formula to address match length (or play standardized match lengths), so it would be more cumbersome.
