My take on the Giants list

One presumes Mishy Poo means more videos from MCG, not more videos per se.

As someone who would be disappointed if the Giants list was not continued, here are some proposals:

1)Bearing in mind the various pros and cons of the different methods of measuring players strength in this tantalising game of ours, simply state that the choice is for the BEST players using all the evidence the voter has to go on, be it tournament wins/cashes, PR records (especially the non cherry picking BMAB), win/loss records, Elo ratings, Larsen-Silliman and other systems, even reputations.

2) State either that only the last 2 years are to be be assessed, OR that there is no such restriction. If the latter, you still have a kind of moving average, as players will tend to think of recent achievements more than distant ones.

3) Bearing in mind MCG's point that 32 32nd places are required to equal just one 1st place, don't ask the voter to rank the players that they select. They should not even have to select 32, that is the maximum that they can.

4) Try to find a way to make voter eligibility more pertinent. This is a general proposal therefore, not a specific one (ie I have no idea).
