Oh, boy -- another one of those "if it looks close..." decisions. First, is it close?

No question the 5(2) adds to our structure, but it's a fresh blot, it surrenders a decent (particularly presently) blocking point, and it gives Dillies full freedom to play their subsequent roll.

24/23, 6/3* does a few things in the opposite direction. We take away their freedom and diversify our hitters/builders in their homeboard. We still leave a fresh blot and we delay structural improvements.

The race is close which I think argues for trying to gain there (and in other aspects of our game). They are threatening to get away. Our made acepoint (sole new asset, if you call it that) only has value when opp is either on or threatened to be on the bar. I do think the decision is close but if it's not then it looks to me as though the hit is the choice:

24/23, 6/3*
