Forget about this 20% + ballots, u may note, country as Turkey, who has 2 federations and only in their anniversary tournament they have 400 players, so combined they have at least 600 players, they own 4 international tournaments in Cyprus could not even place their world champion in top 32! WORLD CHAMPION! They have only 1 player, not 5, while they have 100 times more active players, better players for sure and they place only one-who is world champion and he is just number 52!
take in mind many more players did vote for him outside Turkey for sure-just telling this to see how hard is to place even in top 64!
I'm pretty sure Turkey is now 3rd most powerfull country in BG after US and DK, as for the resoans i explained above-they have the best international events and many many players and at least 5 ultra strong players!
Also Ali not just won MC, he won Arda's tournament with over 100 players in january, in february he got 2nd in Anniversary from 400 players, and then he become World champion in Aug, of course croatians attended and won much more events, the Bosnian as well.
