Bear off cube action

I misunderstood your original post (my fault) but one of my overall points was and still is that this very well could be a double regardless of who is playing. If the opponent is stronger than you it's obvious. If they're equal to you (this is the theoretical you, not the personal you), it's also a cube because how many people really know to take this. Even against a weaker player it may be best to double. If they're weaker they will have no idea what their take point is and also no clue how to figure out how often they win. All they'll see is a pitiful situation at hand. I'd guess they drop a large percentage of the time.
On the other hand, esp. with certain players, one could argue that the weaker player will see a way to win (and quickly). A desperate way out of this mess and take. That's certainly at times a valid argument also.
As for you playing against a random opponent I would drop this thing every day of the week and twice on Sundays. The fish MET only takes a small part of the equation into account and it is of course far from perfect. This is a drop, drop, drop...like it's hot.
