Traditional backgammon in Bosnia has long tradition, more then backgammon has in the United States, as well as in the Balkans, Iran and the Middle East.

Players are young and have the sense of humour, despite economical and war problems they experienced.

In Sarajevo Open , there was much media attention, newspapers and TV covered the tournament.

European Backgammon Federation was established in order to help developing countries establish international standards. Ofcourse, this can't happen overnight, but it's getting better every year.
