Agreed. I have played exactly one game of go in my life, and I took a beating from the free beginner go app on android.

The changes will be dramatic. Perhaps more akin to the chess changes when chess bots started, but with a far steeper curve.

Interestingly, AlphaGo had quite a bit of power behind it (http://www.androidauthority.com/google-alphago-ai-679468/), so lets make sure we recognize that this wasnt simply akin to GNU beating a current world champion in BG. This was like GNU on steroids with monstrous processing power behind it. I use GNU as the example rather than XG because I dont think, iteratively speaking, that AlphaGo is anywhere near the top of the Go bot curve. Although in its infancy, it is the current best.
