Very nicely done! I am afraid this one was above my pay grade.

Thanks, but I think you underestimate your abilities. I'm seen you solve many tricky retros. The needle-threading 10-roll sequence would have pushed your envelope, but I'm sure you could have found a (perfectly played) sequence in the 12-14 roll range.

If you feel up to it, or if anyone else does, try this related puzzle:


Reach the above position LEGALLY (no need to play well) in just 8 rolls. Blue rolls first, White last. However, I'll accept any solution of 12 rolls or fewer.

For an even greater challenge: All of White's rolls are doublets and in ascending order of pips!
