Hi Caspar. There are 26 Grandmasters so far, with many of these players regularly placing highly in the top 16 of the Giants List. There was much debate about threshold levels and likely numbers in BMAB's pre launch consultancy panel. The consensus view was that the PR 4.0 level, previously established by the Mochy Club, was the appropriate threshold level for a family of grandmaster classes (1-3). It was anticipated that there could potentially be 30-50 players in this group, and the results so far do not appear to be inconsistent with this estimate. Incidentally, it was anticipated that only 5-10 players would reach the Class 1 level.
