BMAB is clear proof

Looks like Stick is on a mission this year to prove to the world that he is a true force. He really needed to do BMAB as he has not played in a lot of tournaments in the past few years and his tournament cashes have done little to prove he is one of the best.
I dont see how anyone can refute BMAB because of the way it is done and also if you look at the list of the players at the top there are no surprises. This weekend Stick also proved something winning the masters and it was no easy draw.
In the lecture, which you can all see for yourself on You Tube, Stick not only held his own against the great John O'Hagan but his comments and insights showed a great understanding of the game. I assure you Stick had no advance idea of what the subject matter of the contest was going to be.
What many of you dont know is that Stick is also something I believe is rare in a top player--he is also a very fine teacher. I have given many lessons with him and taken lessons from him, and his abilty to understand what the student is missing and then explain it in a way to make him understand it is excellent. He has clearly done well more than his 10,000 hours of deliberste practice and is extremely organized and can quickly pull uo rollouts and reference positions for virtually any kind of position quickly. I dont know anyone (but Xavier) who understands the use if the tools of XG better. And he can do it all in French as well as English.
Yes, for those of you who always look for an ulterior motive, I am disclosing that Stick is one of our teachers st BLC and I do have an interest in his teaching success, and I have referred him a good number of students over the years. Most of those students I continue to stay in touch with and get very positive feedbsck on Stick's lessons. Many have become top Open players with the trophies and rankings to prove it. But it is because of my working with him for many years and knowing who all of his students are that I am uniquely qualified to attest to his teaching skills.
I am hapoy to see Stick back on the tournament trail and winning and also getting this terrific acknowledgement and DEFINITIVE PROOF of his awesome skills.
