OTB I had the old adage "prime a point, attack a blot" in mind. So I hit, which is a fat blunder.

The position cries for a bold play, but slotting is at least as bold as hitting.

The risk of both strategies is about the same, but if opp does not hit the position after slotting is much better.

If opp has no blot on his 2 point, as Karol suggested, the decision is very close.
