In Response To: Nordic Open Ruling in Quarterfinals -- O'Laughlin vs. Mitrelis (Kevin Finch)

Ed actually offered this as a reasonable compromise, that he would play his 6 19/13 (the move he played, and the move he would have made had his illegal play been pointed out) and that his opponent could keep the 53. This was very reasonable.

In fairness to Mitrelis, Ed had been playing sloppily all match, and his Mitrelis had been putting checkers straight all match long. But this was more than "putting a checker straight".

I thought Steen (TD) and Raj Jansari (for the committee) handled the case very calmly and clear.
